How to Know When Opportunity is Knocking

Louisiana Governor Piyush "Bobby" Jindal is enjoying a lot of TV exposure this week and grabbing major sound bites refuting statements made by unsuccessful presidential candidate Mitt Romney. When questioned about the remarks Romney made regarding the reason he believes President Obama won reelection so handily ("gifts" to special interest groups like women, minorities, and students), Jindal was quick to offer a verbal smack down to refute Romney's claim.

Sorry Jindal, I'm not impressed. At all. Where was all your outrage prior to the election - when Romney basically stated that 47% of the people in this country are moochers who don't pay taxes and are looking for a handout? (A comment Romney later recanted - of course).

Though the rest of the country may be unaware, any Louisiana citizen who remotely keeps up with politics knows that prior to the election, Jindal spent a great deal of his time running around the country campaigning for Romney and following him around like a puppy looking for a political appointment treat.

Now, when the election is over and no political appointment treat is forthcoming, Jindal wants to present himself as the champion of the same minorities and other voters Romney seems bent on bashing.

Um, yeah, right.

Jindal clearly sees an opportunity a chance to position himself as the one to reshape the image of the Republican party.

So, how do you know when opportunity is knocking? When Jindal is falling over himself to open the door.

Join in the Fray: Do you believe Bobby Jindal is an opportunist - or an individual who really cares about the the Republican party?
